Sister of man, 38, stabbed to loss of life with a ‘machete’ whereas driving his mobility scooter alongside east London road pays tribute to ‘cheerful and caring’ brother who ‘by no means took nothing too critically’


The sister of a person who was stabbed to loss of life with a machete whereas driving his mobility scooter has paid tribute to her ‘cheerful and caring’ brother.

Two males have been arrested on suspicion of homicide after Jade Anthony Barnett, 38, was killed on Rushmore Highway in Clapton, Hackney.

Met Police officers have been referred to as to the east London road at 3.38pm yesterday following reviews of a struggle, with options {that a} machete was used within the ugly assault. 

Mr Barnett was handled by emergency providers, together with ambulance service and air ambulance workers, however he was pronounced lifeless on the scene.

His sister Simone Barnett, from Hackney, described him as a ‘cheerful and caring man’ who ‘by no means took nothing too critically’.

Ms Barnett, 45, informed how her brother had lived in Clapton together with his mom, however his mates stated he had moved to the Stratford space and in addition misplaced his leg in a bike accident in 2007.

Ms Barnett added: ‘He comes round right here (Clapton) on a regular basis, everybody knew my brother – younger, previous, moms, fathers, everyone knew my brother.

‘Everyone is household, he is simply that character.’

On Wednesday night, a black and gray mobility scooter was seen behind a police cordon – near a forensics tent on the scene. 

The Met Police has confirmed two males, aged 21 and 28, have been arrested, on suspicion of homicide. They continue to be in custody at an east London police station.

A neighborhood butcher described Mr Barnett as a ‘good man’ who has lived within the space for about 9 years.

A girl who was amongst these gathering at a police cordon after the loss of life and who didn’t wish to be named, stated: ‘He was at all times humorous, making jokes, pleasant with everyone, at all times had a smile on his face, and at all times nice.

‘There’s not a foul factor I might say about him. I do know him from very long time, he is a pleasant man, very good man, at all times see him, he is at all times nice.

‘You by no means count on (an incident like this) in any respect, to be trustworthy, however to him, least of all – he is simply good, at all times, at all times a pleasure to see him, he is upbeat.’

A person who knew Mr Barnett, but in addition didn’t wish to be recognized, stated he was ‘a younger man, good spirit, no enemies, no weapons, no crime, no gangs’.

Detective Chief Superintendent James Conway, liable for policing in Hackney and Tower Hamlets, stated: ‘Our investigation continues to be within the early levels and my detectives are working onerous to determine the circumstances of what has occurred this afternoon.
